His activities
Olivier MANDEL is a partner at MANDEL – ASSOCIES. He is in charge of the Intellectual Property Department which has considerably developed, following the establishment of a Correspondent Office in Alicante (Spain), seat of EUIPO. He advises and litigates in the field of patents, trademarks, designs as well as copyright.
He serves a national and international clientele on a wide variety of IP, Internet, and unfair competition issues, with a focus on litigation and strategic counseling.
Olivier MANDEL represents clients in different industrial sectors and has acted as Counsel to a well-known automobile manufacturer, a well-known motorbike manufacturer, famous French Bordeaux wine producers, a Japanese organization in its efforts to develop a label for authentic Japanese cuisine in France, Japanese museums in connection with their French art activities, French companies specialized in patented green roofs, famous directors, art dealers, etc.
He also has experience in the fields of publishing and motion pictures.
Olivier MANDEL’s litigation practice has involved patents, trademarks, copyright, designs and domain names. He has appeared in commercial courts and specialized IP courts throughout the country.
Olivier MANDEL’s expertise also includes the filing and maintenance of trade marks and designs in France and in the European Union, including defense to opposition and cancellation proceedings.

Lyon (2004) and Paris (2005). Admitted to appear before all French Courts and administrations. Admitted to appear before EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office – Alicante, Spain) and INPI (French Patents, Trademarks and Designs Office).

Education
Paris II – France (D.E.A. de Propriété Littéraire, Artistique et Industrielle, 2000). Before joining the firm of MANDEL – ASSOCIES, Olivier MANDEL was associate at the law firm Véron & Associés (specialized in patent litigation) and F. & P. Greffe (specialized in trademark and design litigation). Before joining the Bar, Olivier MANDEL worked as a legal consultant with the French Embassy in Washington D.C. (October 2000 to December 2001). He advised French companies investing in the United States regarding their IP issues, including US trademark, patent, design and copyright filings as well as IP licensing. Ever since, Olivier MANDEL has endeavored to maintain close ties with D.C. based law firms specialized in IP.
